HTC Incredible: Incredibly generic naming?

While Apple has stuck itself to a one-name-only phone branding, companies like HTC continue to churn out silicon hardware like different branded cereals from the same factory.

With a name such as the “HTC Incredible”, it’s hard to not have high expectations for such a phone. Of course, we don’t know much about the phone, aside from the fact that it should be running Android 2.1, since the name was discovered from HTC’s leaked Android 2.1 ROM. Now it seems that word is going around that the phone will be available on Verizon. There isn’t any mention as to whether “Incredible” is just a code name, or the actual name that it will be marketed as.

Based on the latest intel, the Incredible will sport a Snapdragon CPU, 256MB of RAM, a 3.5 (or 3.7) inch WVGA display. There is a possibility that it might sport an AMOLED display too (hmm where have I heard this before?? ahh yes HTC Nexus One). In the camera department, the back of the device shows that it touts dual LED flashes, which is rather cool. This looks like it’s going to be one really cool Android phone, so stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated as information on this is released (or leaked).

Do you think the HTC Incredible will be.... incredible?
